Cafe Journaling: Kim Haus Penang

Part of the relish of journaling is the encouragement it gives to explore new places. We often find excuses to experience life so that we can pen it down in our journal. In this new series of “Cafe Journaling”, we will introduce to you some good cafes for journaling away from your desk.

Cafe Journaling is a collection of cafes that we have tried and tested to be conducive for journaling, reading, writing or painting. Be sure to check out this series as we trotter around the world in search for these cafes.

We’ll start with Kim Haus as our debut. It is located at Campbell Street, Penang. This building used to be a gold shop. There are some antiques, goldsmith tools, etc. in the cafe exhibiting some charm of the past.

Besides a cool cafe, Kim Haus is also a hotel ala loft style. For those who want to visit Penang, you should also check out their accommodation right in the smack of the Unesco Heritage site.

Why we love to journal at Kim Haus:

• Spacious seating suitable for small journal jam gathering.
• They serve good food and coffee, so it is convenient to stay there for a long time without having to move to another place when you’re hungry.
• It is a stone-throw away from Writer shop which you can literally walk. Before journaling, you can drop by the Writer to grab some new stationery.
